Bareburger is a chain restaurant that can be found all over the United States, from Atlanta, to Washington D.C., to right here in New York. I decided to stop by their Forest Hills location because honestly, I don’t do enough posts about restaurants in Queens and it’s about time that I do. Bareburger is a restaurant that aims to cater to all dietary restrictions, much like my website.

They offer food made from fresh and simple ingredients that can please meat-eaters, vegans, vegetarians, in-betweeners, pescatarians, and gluten-haters all at once. Bareburger offers items such as organic grass-fed beef, organic turkey, beyond meat patties, and gluten free burgers. Their menu is over one-third vegetarian and plant based, therefore, those who do not eat meat will not feel limited by their options.

Bareburgers menu is filled with fun burgers such as the Golden State and the Big Bopper, but you’re also able to create your own fun by customizing the burger of your dreams. Other than burgers, you can find hearty salads, sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast and much more at this restaurant. The Forest Hills location also offers brunch every Saturday and Sunday morning. During brunch they serve amazing vegan and non vegan breakfast options and $4 cocktails. When I went for brunch I ordered the Beyond Burrito which was a tasty and filling wrap. Barburger also serves vegan milkshakes. It should be noted that their vegan milkshakes are made using the same equipment as dairy milkshakes. So if you are worried about the possibility of cross contamination you may not want to order their milkshakes.

Each time that I visited Bareburger I chose to build my own burger because I love playing around with toppings. There are ten patties to choose from and five of them are vegan! I usually go with the sweet potato, kale and wild rice patty or the black bean, roasted corn and poblano patty. When I think about the typical burger joint in America, I usually envision a heavy and greasy burger that is going to take me out as soon as I’m done eating. However, the burgers at Bareburger are light, delicious, and non greasy. They are so light that you can almost be fooled into thinking that you can eat two of them back to back. Despite the fact that they are filling, the burgers don’t leave you feeling grossly over stuffed. Unfortunately their fries are nothing to go crazy over. Both the sweet potato fries and original fries were pretty plain. Luckily everything else made up for that.

Bareburger is really a great restaurant for anyone who is interested in eating clean comfort food. I know that a lot of us try to eat better and be healthy, but that doesn’t mean that you have to let go of your favorite comfort foods.
