Peche Seafood Grill

As the name implies, Peche is a seafood restaurant that aims to provide a unique dining experience by blending the traditions of live-fire cooking techniques with modern dishes. Inside, you will find a bar and ample seating that is capable of accommodating large parties. When I arrived it was extremely crowded, but I only wanted to grab a quick bite. So I inquired about whether or not they offered takeout, but unfortunately they did not. The server recommended that I have a seat at the bar for quicker service, and I obliged his request.

Peche’s menu consisted of a raw bar, snacks, small plates, soups and salads, handful of entrees, and sides. Almost everything that I was interested in buying contained milk or eggs, so I decided to go with the spicy ground shrimp and noodles. Despite the fact that I was told I would receive quick service at the bar, it took some time for me to receive my order.

During the first few bites I started to feel a bit disappointed; I was not enjoying my meal. I started thinking about where I could go instead to grab something to eat. Expectations are a hell of a thing, because I built this idea in my mind about how I expected the shrimp to taste and I was thrown off when it tasted nothing like that. However, halfway through the meal I started to truly enjoy the shrimp. The taste grew on me. The dish was very simple, it consisted of bite sized pieces of grounded shrimp mixed into a spicy sauce with broad noodles. Despite the fact it is called “spicy” ground shrimp and noodles, it is not that spicy. This dish turned out to be the light lunch that I was looking for.
