&pizza- Walnut Street

It was 11 P.M. on a Saturday night and everything was closing before my eyes. Being someone who doesn't eat meat, I knew that my options were running low by the second. I desperately searched the internet for somewhere close that was vegan friendly. To my surprise, my savior was a pizza spot. &Pizza serves uniquely shaped pizza for meat-eaters, vegans, and vegetarians alike. Unlike traditional pizza, their pizza takes on a shape of it’s own.

You have the option of ordering straight from the menu or creating your own masterpiece. At &Pizza you get to play around with fun and even odd ingredients, such as spicy chickpea, shrimp, hot honey, and more. I decided to create two pizzas because I wasn’t sure if one would have been enough to share between me and my boyfriend. For the first pizza I went with the traditional dough, spicy tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella, grilled onion, jalapeno, tomato, mushroom, roasted pepper, vegan sausage, black pepper and BBQ sauce. The second pizza had pretty much the same ingredients as the first one, however, instead of vegan sausage I went with shrimp, and there was no tomato, mushroom, roasted pepper or BBQ sauce.

When I first looked at the pizza I did not think I was going to be fully satisfied because of how thin it was was. However, once I took the first bite I instantly recognized that this was quality pizza. It had the perfect ratio of crunch, to flavor, and toppings. Some vegan pizza have a tendency of tasting very bland and basically like frauds, but this pizza definitely was not that. It was just plain old great pizza.

It’s truly a blessing to have place like &Pizza. It’s not too often that you have great vegan friendly food in the city late at night. So for those who get out of work late, or if you’re leaving a party in the wee hours of the morning on the weekends, you can depend on &Pizza to provide you with delicious and quality pizza until 4 A.M.
