Kimchi Grill

Food Pictured above: Roasted Veggie Kimchi Bowl, Kale & Spinach Mandu Dumplings (Steamed), Lime Margarita, and Vegan Spicy Korean Rice Gnocchi

Kimchi Grill has become my safe haven and my comfort zone. If I'm not in the mood to try out a new restaurant, go anywhere pretentious, or spend a lot of money on food, then this is where you will find me. I can always rely on Kimchi Grill to provide consistent, delicious food for a decent price. There has never been a time that I've ordered from this restaurant and have been disappointed! Do you know how great of a feeling that is? To have a reliable restaurant in terms of service and the quality of the food. I live for this! One of the things I despise the most is spending money on food and it turns out to be trash.

A little fun fact about my journey as a pescatarian; Kimchi Grill is the first restaurant that I tried when I became a pescatarian about four years ago. To this day I am still exploring dishes on their menu. That may also be because I was only ordering the Kimchi Bowl for about a year straight before I tried anything else. However, now that I am trying more things on the menu, Kimchi Grill is reeling me in more and more.

The roasted veggie kimchi bowl is packed with fresh kimchi, pickled daikon, carrots, and Brussels sprouts, all served on a bed of rice and greens. You can also opt to have different toppings on your kimchi bowl, such as spicy Korean tofu, spicy grilled chicken, crispy fish, etc. The kimchi bowls also have three different spice levels: least spicy, regular spicy, and extra spicy. The kale & spinach mandu dumplings are absolutely delicious! One order comes with seven steamed or crispy mandu dumplings served with spicy citrus soy sauce. Honestly, the dumplings wouldn’t be complete without the sauce.

Lets not forget about their drinks though! Their frozen margaritas will have you feeling right. Usually there are two flavors available at any given time, and my favorite flavor is lime. So you can definitely pull up with your friends, or even by yourself, if you're looking to sip on margaritas and enjoy some good food.

This restaurant fills the needs of ALL types of diets! They offer great options for meat eaters, vegetarians, pescatarians, vegans and also those who need gluten free options. Another great thing about this place is that they were present at AFROPUNK Brooklyn (2017). Seeing their food truck there honestly saved my life!!

Luckily, during one of my visits to Kimchi Grill, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Phill, and he was welcoming and attentive. He made sure that me and my boyfriend had a great experience and he also took the time to speak with us about his restaurant.

Kimchi Grill is a restaurant that I will recommend over and over again to anyone, regardless of their diet. Be sure to check them out whenever you’re in Brooklyn.
